Fidelity receives prestigious award for 7th consecutive year

Luxembourg, 18 June 2007 Fidelity International, the UK's largest mutual fund manager(1) has been named as the leading pan-European fund management firm in this year's Thomson Extel Awards.

Each year Thomson Extel sends out what is believed to be the largest professional survey of its kind to the worldwide financial community. The Thomson Extel survey this year polled 1,449 buyside firms, 128 Brokerage Houses, 490 Quoted Companies and 194 of the top 200 Asset Management Firms.(2)

Fidelity was voted the best buyside firm in 21 sectors out of a total of 31(3). The winning sectors were: Aerospace and Defence, Banks, Biotechnology, Capital Goods, Chemicals, Construction, Household Products, Insurance, Luxury Goods, Media, Metals and Mining, Oil and Gas, Retailers - Food, Retailers - Non Food, Semiconductors, Software & IT Services, Speciality & Other Finance, Telco Equipment/IT Hardware, Tobacco, Transport and Utilities.

Mario Frontini, fund manager of FF Italy and FF European Aggressive Fund, also picked up a third place in the leading pan-European fund management individual category.
