ThirdSight, leading expert in automated human behaviour analysis and facial expression recognition, has released ‘HappyShutter’, a universal Android and iOS app.

HappyShutter is a mobile app which automatically takes picture when it detects a smile. A sound and flash notification informs users that the photo has been successfully taken. It is no longer necessary to rush for the timer or ask another person to take a picture for you. Cut off and grumpy faces belong to the past.

rn

HappyShutter uses the power of current device capablities to analyze the faces and detect whether all people are smiling, which enables hands-free photography. Additional functions such as time shutter and manual shutter allow traditional solutions within the application, so that it can be used as a perfect replacement for the standard camera app.

“With HappyShutter we show a global audience what ThirdSight technologies are capable of,” states Ben van Dongen, Chief Executive Officer at ThirdSight. “Usually applied for business solutions for digital signage or market research, I am especially proud that the team was able to get a rather complex technology to work on a smartphone to provide fun and easiness for consumers.”

The app was pre-released at the end of last year and has since been downloaded 130.000 times and appeared in several online publications. “Hands free group photo taking made easy, and everyone can be in the picture,” writes a HappyShutter user on the iTunes store. Another user describes: “It is great if you want to take a picture of yourself and a friend or two and there is no one around to hold the camera,” and yet another user enthousiastically shares that “this is the feature that I have been looking for in my iPhone 4S!” The official release version of today, has made our app even more attractive. HappyShutter now offers new shutter options and allows you to share your pictures with your friends through the social media.

HappyShutter is now available for smartphones and tablets on the Google Play Store and App Store for a discounted launching price of 0.99$. For more information, visit www.happyshutter.thirdsight.co.
