Plasticon Europe BV acquires Plastilon Oy

May 16 2007 - The management and shareholders of Plasticon Europe BV, Oldenzaal (Netherlands), and Plastilon Oy, Imatra (Finland) wish to announce that agreement has been reached on the acquisition of Plastilon Oy by Plasticon Europe BV.

For Plasticon Europe BV this means an important step in the company's growth strategy. With Plastilon the group will strengthen its presence in Scandinavia, where it currently has no production capacity. Being part of the group, Plastilon will be able to offer a much wider product and service package and have access to flexible production capacity. Plastilon will continue to service the market under its current name.

Plasticon Europe provides the chemical, water/wastewater, power generation and other process industries with integrated solutions for handling and containing critical fluids and gases . Plasticon Europe is Europe's largest manufacturer of specialty engineered and corrosion resistant glass fibre reinforced plastic and dual laminate products. The company has it head office in the Netherlands, with production locations in the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, France and Thailand. Recently Plasticon North America was also established.

Plastilon is engaged in the same business segment, mainly in the chemical, pulp & paper, and power industries, to which Plastilon supplies piping, tanks and equipment. Plastilon has its production location in Imatra, Finland.
