Summerschool For Dance Students
‘LET’S GET PERSONAL’
THE HAGUE, THE NETHERLANDS – Getting noticed and developing your technique; young dancers find pleasure and personal advantage at ‘Summerschool Den Haag’. The international Summer School in the Dutch Royal city The Hague offers the online possibility of creating an individual schedule for each student and a telephone number for Personal Assistance. The programme includes daily balletclasses, pointe technique and classical- and contemporary workshops for Amateurs and Professionals.
“In this day and age where so much is impersonal and done by computers, we are happy to get personal” said Mabel Alter, former dancer with Nederlands Dans Theater and previously teacher at Codarts Rotterdam Dance Academy. ”Summerschool Den Haag will work with small groups. The students will be able to study at their own level, receive individual corrections and find pleasure in dance”. Further teachers this year include Bregje van Balen; prominent dancer at the Nederlands Dans Theater for 18 years, Csaba Kvasz; State Opera Budapest, Keith-Derrick Randolp; Scapino Ballet Rotterdam and Pedro Gomes, choreographer and previously artistic Director for Companhia Portuguesa de Bailado Contemporâneo.
LE CORSAIRE
Three young dancers will receive a scholarship for Summerschool Den Haag. They will be selected during the audition for the Inspiration Project. Dancers in this project will perform a new choreography by Maurice Causey, balletmaster and rehearsal director at the Nederlands Dans Theater. And the “Pas de Trois of the Odalisques” from Le Corsaire by Mirella Simoncini, Artistic Director Summerschool Den Haag.
Amateur-dancers will have the chance to dance repertory from Le Corsaire during a mini workshop in Summerschool. Simoncini will adapt the technical level of the repertory to the ability of the students.
GISELLE FROM SLOVAKIA
Straight from the main city of eastern Slovakia, Kosice comes a charming warm-hearted different Giselle solo. Especially created for the State Theatre of Košice by one of the dancers currently at the Netherlands Dans Theater: Natalia Horecna. She is working with simple ballet and charactere dance-steps and will explain use of music and characteristic movements in a 1-day workshop.
