Yukos verkoopt raffinaderij Litouwen

Yukos International rondt aandelenverkoop af in Litouwse raffinaderij Mazeikiu Nafta aan PKN Orlen

Yukos International UK BV heeft eerder vandaag de verkoop afgerond van haar belang van 53,7% in Mazeikiu Nafta aan PKN Orlen.
Na afloop van een intensief veilingproces dat 18 maanden geduurd heeft en ondanks de pogingen van de Russische autoriteiten om het proces te verstoren, heeft Yukos International UK BV de definitieve contracten ondertekend met PKN Orlen om de verkoop af te ronden van het meerderheidsbelang in de raffinaderij, de pijpleiding en het haven complex. Deze vormen samen de grootste onderneming van Litouwen met de grootste bijdrage aan het nationaal product van het land.
De verkoop vond plaats tegen de prijs van 1,492 miljard US dollar. Het uitgebreide en transparante veilingproces werd voor Yukos International UK BV geleid door Lehman Brothers. Yukos International beschouwt zowel de veiling als de uitkomst als zeer succesvol.
Met name staat de zeer hoge prijs die het resultaat is van deze veiling in scherp contrast met de uiterst lage prijzen die de Russische autoriteiten verkrijgen bij hun controversiële veilingen van de bezittingen van Yukos in Rusland.
Het blijft de bedoeling van Yukos International om de opbrengsten van de verkoop ten goede te laten komen aan de Nederlandse deurwaarder zodat het geld kan worden verdeeld onder de wettige schuldeisers in overeenstemming met de toepasselijke wet- en regelgeving.
